Mona Joy Cothran, 65 of Elkmont, Alabama, died Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at her residence.
Mrs. Cothran was born January 6, 1960 in Bay Minette, Alabama. She was formerly employed at Athens Limestone Hospital.
Services will be 2pm Friday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens, burial in Antioch Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday 12noon until service at Spry Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Preston Pylant, Andrew Pylant, Jackson Pylant, Cale Haggard, Dennis Freeman, Keith Harris and Sam Hartzog. Honor Pallbearers will be Cashton Haggard, Jordan Freeman and Elizabeth Freeman.
Survivors: Daughters, Bridgette (Preston) Pylant of Athens, April (Cale) Haggard of Athens and Lisa (Dennis) Freeman of Scottsville, KY. Honorary Daughter, Jackie (Todd) Haggermaker of Athens. Grandchildren, Andrew Pylant, Jackson Pylant, Elizabeth Freeman, Jordan Freeman and Cashton Haggard. Sister, Summer (Johnny) Hartzog of Montgomery, AL. Brother, Mike (Carol) Harris of Prattville, AL. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Dwight Harris and Joy Jones. Husband, Thanul Dennis Cothran.
