Lisa Ann Brakfield, 58, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Huntsville Hospital. There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 5:00 PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. Frank Pate, a dear friend of the family will be speaking. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the chapel.
Ms. Brakfield was born in Decatur, Alabama on February 21, 1967 to Carter Bibb and Nita Conway Tutwiler. She later became a Safety Trainer for the Tennessee Valley Training Center. She enjoyed her Wednesday night small group gatherings. In her spare time, she loved going to the beach; solving puzzles; reading; and playing dominoes.
Ms. Brakfield was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. Her kindness and love will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
Ms. Brakfield is lovingly remembered by her son, Zac Brakfield (Monica); daughter, Sydney Brakfield; grandchildren, Cruz and Carter Brakfield; sister, Beth McGuire (Bill); brother, David Tutwiler (Jenny); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ms. Brakfield was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the non-profit organization, “Hands Across Decatur” in memory of Ms. Lisa Brakfield.
Shelton Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
