Nathan Layne McAvoy Nathan Layne McAvoy joined his beloved mother and father on April 23, 2025.Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 1:00pm at Shanghi Cemetery in Quinton, AL. Brother Hollis Alexander will be officiating.

He was very loved by his family. He enjoyed spending time with his Gammy and Paw Paw. He had a great love of football and excelled as a part of the defensive and offensive line. He was nicknamed “Big Mac” and received the “Mr. Hustle” award. It was the only one ever given in the football program. He was looking forward to attending the UFL Birmingham Stallions game with his Aunt Meme. He enjoyed playing the guitar, writing songs and enjoyed all types of music, following the footsteps of his parents. His dry, quiet sense of humor entertained all he knew. He loved big and gave the best hugs.

Nathan is preceded in death by his parents; Iris E. Singleton McAvoy and David D. McAvoy, aunt; Tiffany McAvoy, great-grandmother; Lucille Singleton, great-grandfather; JD Daniel, great-grandfather; Howard McAvoy.

Nathan is survived by grandmother; Kathryn Daniel Singleton of Vestavia, AL, grandfather; James Singleton of Dora, AL, aunt; Melissa Bean of Birmingham, AL, grandfather; Lee McAvoy of Jacksonville, FL, grandmother; Deb McAvoy of Adamsville, AL, uncle; Brian Hammonds of Rock Creek, AL, cousins; Ellie and River McAvoy of Wisconsin Dell, WI and a special friend; Gabe Dollar.
