Thomas Lane McGee, 62, passed away at his residence in Tupelo on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. A proud son of Mississippi, Tommy was born in Pontotoc and graduated from Pontotoc High School. He went on to earn his degree from Mississippi State University before building a long and successful career as a senior engineer with Entergy Corporation. After his retirement, Tommy embraced his love of travel, exploring the world. A man of the Baptist faith, Tommy had a lifelong love for animals and was especially devoted to his cats and dogs, who brought him constant joy and companionship.
Tommy is survived by his siblings, Lynn McGee (Nancy) and Bobby McGee (Claire); his nephew, Robert McGee (Spencer); nieces, Lauren Babb (Joe), Mary Catherine Hulst (Jonathan), and Alyson Gembala (Ryan); grandnephews, Jack Babb, Theodore, Stefan, and Charles Gembala, Patterson McGee, and Holden Hulst; and grandnieces, Cate Babb, Ava Babb, and Maeve Hulst.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.S. and Mary Jean Gooch McGee.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 PM at Pontotoc City Cemetery, with Bro. Rod Borders officiating.
