Joseph "Joe" Lee Bolden Jr.  It is with great sorrow that the family of Joseph “Joe” Lee Bolden, Jr. announces his passing on Friday, April 18, 2025. He will be deeply missed by his dearest friends and family.

Joe is preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley Bray Bolden, and survived by his son, Cody Bolden, daughter-in-law Lauren Bolden, and two granddaughters, Rose and Evelyn Bolden.

Joe was born on May 5, 1960, in Homestead, Florida, to the late Joseph Lee Bolden, Sr. and Gloria Anne Sullivan.

Joe served in the United States Marine Corps from 1979 to 1983. He was an active member of The American Legion Post 17 in Talladega, including being the Post Commander from 2017 to 2023.

Joe was admired for his fun-loving spirit and his appreciation of the outdoors: hunting, riding motorcycles, and spending time caring for his family’s land along the Talladega National Forest. Over his 64 years, Joe lived across many states, but the Clairmont Springs Community in Clay County, Alabama was always where he called home. He was known to be kind to all, a loyal friend, and to have a hell of a beard.

A memorial will be held to celebrate the life of Joe Bolden on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 1pm – 3pm at The American Legion Post 17 in Talladega, Alabama.
