Funeral service for Wayne Paul Wascavage, Sr., 83, will be Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 5:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeff Sellers officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. A private family visitation will be held, no public visitation is scheduled.
Mr. Wascavage passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born March 17, 1942, in Michigan, to Paul Wascavage and Hazel May Sneleburg Wascavage.
He was employed by General Motors (GM), as a Manufacturing Engineer, until his retirement from the Athens, Alabama Plant. Wayne was a member of the 9th Street Methodist Church in Decatur until its closure, was an avid gardener and loved sharing his produce with anyone who would take it. He loved Classic cars and restoring them to their original condition. He enjoyed walking the track at Priceville in the mornings and met many lifelong friends there including, Ronnie Montgomery. He was married for 62 years to the love of his life, Sharon Ann Schomaker Wascavage.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and a sister; Doris Wascavage Cannon.

Daughter – Annette Olga Wascavage Clark (Jeff),
Brother – Thomas Schomaker (Pam)
Sister – Deanna Wascavage Bell
Six Grandchildren – Blaine Clark (Summer), Bennett Clark (Alex), Whittney Thompson (Brayden), Mauriene Froman (Devin), Lacey Clark, and Taylor Langley (Collin).
Five Great Grandchildren – Beau Clark, Baker Clark, Cora Clark, Clark Thompson, and Hayden Langley.
Several Nieces and Nephews
and Special “Walking” Friend – Ronnie Montgomery.
