Dorothy Mae Whitman, age 96 of Haleyville, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 at her residence. She was born on December 28, 1928 to King Clark Sr. and Ethel Robinson Clark in Haleyville, Alabama. Dorothy was a member of Grace Baptist Church and she loved talking about the Lord and witnessing to those around her. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, helping her children, and spending time with all of her grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by children, Shirley Whitman Hogan, Don (Judy) Whitman, Allen (Becky) Whitman; grandchildren, Callie (Luke) Hogan Fowler, Jamie (Kevin) Hogan Johnson, Dustin Hutcheson, Andrew Whitman, Tasha Huckaba, Charity Whitman, and CJ Whitman; Nine great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; siblings, Jean Jones, Alice Jo Hyde, and Jerry Wayne Clark; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, King and Ethel Clark; husband, Roy Whitman; siblings, Jenny Franks, Mary Sue Thomas, Oma Jean Hill, Richard Clark, O.B. Clark; granddaughter, Kristie Whitman Hood; and son in law, James Hogan.
