Peggy Lynn Merrill Petri, 66, of Lacey’s Spring, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025. Mrs. Petri was born in Jefferson City, MO where she attended Jefferson City Senior High. She graduated from Hopkinsville Community College/University of Kentucky (GO WILDCATS!) with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1993 and from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2020. A U.S. Army veteran, Mrs. Petri was a member of Lacey’s Spring Methodist Church. She enjoyed studying the Bible, family genealogy, reading, history, painting and family. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, registered nurse, and pro-life conservative.

Survivors include her soulmate and husband of 36 years, Phillip P. Petri; son, William J. Petri (Heejung); grandchildren, April Lynn and Ethan Park Petri; sister, Tina Mobley Steinman (Paul); and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Birdie A. Mobley; father, James F. Merrill; stepfather, Ivary Mobley; brother, James Merrill; half-sister, Margaret McClellan Tichnor; half-brother, John Robertson; and mentor, Patsy Turner.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8th, 2025, at Lacey’s Spring Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Pastor Bill Boggan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan’s PurseFood Bank of North Alabama, and the Downtown Rescue Mission.
