Margaret Faye (Rogers) Marshall, 86, of Ardmore, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at her home.
She was born on December 23, 1938, in Cleveland, Tennessee. Faye spent her entire childhood and teenage years in Polk County, Tennessee near the town of Benton. After graduating high school, she attended Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, where she received a degree in Physical Education with a minor in Secretarial Science. After playing in a college intramural soccer game in the fall of 1959 she met the Reverend Lynn Marshall, who she would later marry and faithfully serve alongside during their 63 years of marriage and Christian service to churches in Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her husband, both of her parents, Cecil Alvin Rogers and Lena Josephine Bates Rogers, one brother, Jerry Rogers as well as one sister, Midge (Rogers) Cheek.
She is survived by her three daughters; Lynnette Thomas of Ardmore, AL., Allena (Tony) Fogg of Harvest, AL., and Harriette (Jerry) Glover of Ardmore, TN. Grandchildren: Joe (Karen) Whitt III, Kaitlynn Hall, Preston (Leah) Fogg, Dylan Whitt, Austin (Emily) Fogg and Em Hall, great-grandchildren; Lila Fogg, Samuel Whitt, Brice Fogg, Clara Fogg and Sadie Fogg.
Mrs. Faye faithfully served her Lord in various capacities in each of the churches where her husband pastored during their marriage. She played the piano, led the youth choir, led Bible Drill, taught Sunday School, was involved in women’s ministries, VBS and many other ministries, not to mention the countless home, hospital, nursing home and evangelical visits she went on with Bro. Lynn. At the time of her passing she was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
A visitation will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. A chapel Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery. Bro. Adam Mikel will be officiating the service.
