Janice Elaine Simmons, age 65, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025. Born on February 26, 1959, to Lelar and Dave Simmons, Janice was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lelar and Dave Simmons, as well as her sisters Polly Henderson and Annie Mae.
Janice is survived by her brothers Wayne and Raymond Simmons, and her sisters Barbara Knott, Shirley Teal, Francis Morris, Louis Vaughn, and Dorothy Henderson. She was also dearly loved by a large family of nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly.
Janice will be laid to rest at Douglas Cemetery, escorted by her pallbearers: Avery Ross, Braxton Knott, Christopher Knott, Richie Knott, Jonathan Compton, and Johnny Knott.
A visitation will be held on January 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate Janice’s life and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
