Carl Everett “Jake” Leggett Sr, age 77 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Tri-Star Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.  A native of Franklin County, he was born on August 23, 1947, and was a 1967 graduate of Franklin County High School. He served his country in the United States Army.  Before his retirement, Jake had been employed at CSX Railroad for over fifteen years.  An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching football and basketball, cheering for whoever was playing.  He also enjoyed fishing and watching westerns.  Jake will be remembered for his kind nature and as a good friend to all he knew.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Corn; siblings, Leroy Baggett, and Patricia Simons; and cousin, Charles Leggett.  Jake is survived by his loving children, Lesliee Leggett, Stephanie Leggett, Carl Leggett Jr, Tiffany Taylor, and Katasha Leggett; seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; devoted ex-wife and caretaker, Gwen Leggett; and special friends, Nathaniel Champion and Gary Dupree.  Visitation will be from 1-4pm on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
