Alfonso “ Shorty” Ortiz, age 83, of Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at his residence.
Alfonso attended Shady Grove Church of Christ. He was an avid outdoorsman loved to hunt, fish. Loved to watch Alabama football and basketball, and Nascar Racing. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will be missed by many.
The visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 04, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Bro. Bobby Bolton will officiate the service. The burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens. The pallbearers will be family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Ann Ortiz, parents, Victor and Mary Ortiz, siblings, Victor Ortiz, Catrino Ortiz, and Mary Harsanyne.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Marshall Allen “Chico” Ortiz, Angelina Newell (Ricky); grandchildren, Christopher Allen Ortiz (Jessica), Brittany Lynn Terry and Zachary Newell; great-grandchildren, Autumn Lynn Ortiz; siblings, Robert Ortiz and Camella Ortiz. A host of other family and friends.
