Ruth was a long time member of Lebanon Baptist Church in Falkville, AL. The Church was started by ancestors of Mrs. Anders and she remembered her Granny Sally telling about the early church meetings in the old log church called Bethany and later the name was changed to Lebanon.
An avid gardener, Ruth always raised prize winning tomatoes and vegtables, but her real joy was the hybrid tea roses that she grew and loved to share with family and friends. She cared for her roses and many other varieties of flowers until she was near 90 years old. Many weekends her friend Margaret Barkley would come by to pick up flowers for church services on Sunday at Lebanon.
She was an amazing cook, Granny’s house and one of her breakfasts was eagerly looked forward to by all family members and friends.
Ruth was a woman who dearly loved her family, in the last days of her life she was thinking about gifts for her great grandson’s high school graduation and the wedding of a great granddaughter.
A one of a kind woman who’s place can never be filled. She was loved by all who knew her.
