William Eddie Walden Sr. “Papa”, 74 of Florence, celebrated his homecoming with the Lord Saturday, April 27, 2013 at home. His funeral service will be held at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Monday, April 29, 2013 at 3:00 with Kenny Windsor officiating. His remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service and burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Papa was a man of his word, loving husband and father and faithful member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. He retired from Browns Ferry and was a member of IBEW Local 558 for 55 years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sue Parker Walden.
He is survived by his son, William “Jody” Eddie Walden II (Vicki); daughters, Rene House (David), Mary Lynn King (Joe) and Mary Sue Milly (Michael); sister, Jane Patterson; brothers, Ronnie Seals and Michael Seals; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are his grandsons, Trey Walden, Sam Walden, Cody Brown, Andrew King and sons-in-law, David House and Michael Milly.
Honorary pallbearers are Steve Wright and grandson, David House, Jr.
Special thanks to Davita Dialysis of Florence and Gentiva Home Health and Hospice who allowed Papa to live out his days with dignity.
