Newell Walker, age 93 of Hartselle, died April 26, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 20, 1920 in Lawrence County to Robert Archie Walker and Alice Virginia Legg Walker. Mr. Walker was a Loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran. He served as a Sergeant in the 87th Infantry Division. He was a member of Straightway Faith Independent Baptist Church. He was a Christian and believed that it is only through Jesus that anyone can go to Heaven. He was a man who believed in God, hard work, the Bible and Family. He was a farmer for many years and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 pm Monday April 29, 2013 at Peck Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Brown and Rev. Billy Gable will officiate. Peck Funeral Home will be directing. Interment will follow in Salem Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 until 8:30pm at the Funeral Home.

Wife, Annie Lois Blackwood Walker
1 – Son, Alan Walker and wife Sharon of Hartselle.
Preceded in death by a Daughter, Charlotte Walker Bradley. Survived by a Son-in-Law Jimmy Bradley of Hartselle.
4 – Grandchildren and 8 – Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be, Chris Hemming, Randy Hinkle, Jimmy Bradley, Seth Pillow, Jakob Smith and Matt Hill
