Graveside service for Charles “Chuck” Berry, age 71, of Decatur, will be Monday, April 29, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens with Rev. Rudy Guess officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 28, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Berry, who died Friday, April 26, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital, was born March 3, 1942 , in North Carolina, to Earl Hanes Berry and Elizabeth Underwood Berry. He retired from SAIC in 2008, he enjoyed golfing and bowling and loved going to his grandchildren’s activities.
He is survived by his loving wife, Libby Berry; his son Kenneth Berry (Laura); his daughter Diana Ballentine (Eric) all of Decatur; his sister, Rebecca Bumgarner of Clemmons, NC and 4 grandchildren, Noah Ballentine, Nicholas Ballentine, Caroline Berry and Camille Berry.
Honorary pallbearers will be his golfing buddies at Cedar Ridge Golf Course.
