Mrs. Maudie Mooney Britt, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 in Lexington. She was born April 6, 1936 in Hardin County to the late Leonard and Lois Presley Flatt. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking sewing, and embroidering. She loved attending church and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Troy “Shorty” Mooney; one daughter, Judy Rowland; two brothers, Thomas Flatt and Robert Flatt; and two sisters, Betty Johnson and Audrey Mooney. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Billy Britt; son, Danny Mooney; two daughters, Linda Davis (Eugene) and Regina Brantley (Roger); two stepsons, Bradley Britt (Alisha) and Scottie Britt; five brothers, Roy Flatt, Lee Flatt, James Ray Flatt, Glen Flatt, and Johnny Flatt; three sisters, Lillian Mae Hatch, Dee Vandiver, and Sue Rowland; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM, Saturday, April 27, 2024 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill. Interment will follow in Ridley’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, 4 – 9 PM and on Saturday, 10 AM – 1 PM.
