Nell Robinson Wallace, age 93 of Huntsville, formerly of Fort Payne, passed away on February 15, 2024 at a healthcare facility in Huntsville, AL.
A retired nurse, Nell was the youngest of four children born to the late Homer & Cery Eberhart Robinson. She grew up on Lookout Mountain above Fort Payne where she attended DeKalb County High School. After graduating as a registered nurse from Birmingham’s Jefferson-Hillman School of Nursing in the early 1950’s, she worked as a hospital nurse and later as the plant nurse at 3M in Decatur. She returned to school in the early 1970’s and obtained a degree in Psychology and Mental Health Counseling from Alabama A&M University before returning to hospital work. Nell was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Walkers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 noon until the 2pm hour of service.
Nell was preceded in death by her brother, John Robinson; sisters, Christine Fox and Bernice Knight; as well as by her former husband, John Wallace.
She is survived by her sons, William Wallace and Stephen (Anna) Wallace; and grandchildren, Alexander and Katherine Wallace.
