  Billy Ray Wiggins Profile PhotoBilly Ray Wiggins was born April 3, 1935 in Hardeman County, TN the son of the late Wiley G. and Ola Mae Mills Wiggins.

He was united in marriage to Dewrell Johnson on November 7, 1953. Mrs. Wiggins preceded him in death on April 22, 2010.

Billy Ray began working in the logging woods in the early 1960’s. He select cut several tracts at Chickasaw State Park and there is also a trail named after him – Wiggins Trail. In 1974, he was injured in a logging accident.

He, along with his wife, grew a beautiful garden. He could grow some of the biggest and tallest tomato plants with his secret mixture of fertilizer. For over 40 years, they were vendors at Ripley Flea Market, Crump Flea Market, and Booneville Flea Market.

Mr. Wiggins departed this life on January 25, 2024 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 9 Months, 22 Days. He is survived by his children, Sidney Wiggins of Bethel Springs, TN, Charles Wiggins and wife Vickey of Selmer, TN, Debbie King and husband Carl of Toone, TN, and Danny Wiggins and wife Zanie of Murfreesboro, TN; eleven grandchildren: Crystal Atnip, Amy Wiggins, Chuck Wiggins and wife Tammy, Sid Wiggins, Jr., Jonathan Wiggins and wife Brittany, Jared Wiggins, Zelle Ferguson, Brandon King, Jennifer King, Christan Burnett, and Brittany Burnett; four sisters: Shirley Ervin, Lee Brock and husband Leon, Margie Baker, and Frances Crouse and husband John; two brothers, Coy Wiggins and wife Betty and Bobby Wiggins and wife Lisa; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Wiggins was preceded in death by a sister, Sissy James, and a brother, Benny Wiggins.
