Harold Wayne Hopkins, age 78 of Estill Springs, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Bailey Manor in Manchester. He was born in Franklin County on November 23, 1945, to the late Harold James and Goldie (Thorton) Hopkins. Harold worked as a machinist on aircrafts for BF Goodrich for fifty years. In his down time, he enjoyed bass fishing, deer hunting, gardening, and tending to his cattle on his farm. He loved watching old westerns and cheering on his beloved University of Tennessee Volunteers Football team. Harold will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, and papa that was always looking on the positive side of things with a great sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Hopkins; son, Scott Barnes; and grandson, Brandon Wooten. Harold is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Glynda Duncan Hopkins; children, Denise Hopkins, Tammy (Ron) Teeter, and Terry Hopkins; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and siblings, Jewel (Clayton) Taylor, Myra (Fred) Benson, and Linda Brewer. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 12pm to 2pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2pm at the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Brother Roy Alan Hopkins officiating. Internment will take place at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
