Robert Philip Jack was born to the late Henry Jack and Elsie B. Jack on October 19, 1947, in New York. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital. He is preceded in death by his brother, Rahlyn Jack, his sister, Roslyn Jack Jones, and his grandson, Eric Andrews, Jr.
Robert attended his formative years of school in the Bronx, where he loved track and swimming. He pursued his Bachelor of Science degree while in the military. Robert completed the culmination of his studies by graduating from Athens State University in Alabama on June 5, 1976. He was a computer programmer in the Army, and computers would remain his primary hobby through retirement.
Robert was involved with the maternal side of his family in their religious and social life. He was also a cadet and a Boy Scout when he was young. In his adult life after leaving the military, he was involved with the Men’s Ministry and the Restorative Ministry at Madison Mission SDA Church. Robert also liked to visit people. Even in the veterans home, he sat with the confined residents.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Olivia Jack; his daughters, Rita Jack and Robin Jack-Simmons; his aunt, Jewell Jacobs; stepchildren, Paul Blackmon II, Eric Blackmon, Jolene Farlow, and Joseph Farlow II; 14 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other family and friends.

SFC Robert P. Jack – was a Vietnam veteran. He volunteered for the U.S. Army at the age of 17 requiring the consent of a parent. He would retire from the military after 20 years of service. Among his medals, awards, and commendations are two purple hearts earned at age 18. He was also sent on assignment to Germany and his family was able to be with him there. A wonderful opportunity for his wife and daughters to expand their horizons along with him.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at the Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115).
Public viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2023, at the Royal Funeral Home.
