Mr. Bobby Joe Hunter, age 57 of Pinson died Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Jackson, TN on March 27, 1966, son of the late Clay Marcus Hunter and the late Beverly Jean Duncan Swope. He grew up in Pinson and attended Southside High School in Jackson.
He enjoyed doing yard work and stable work and had also worked at Brenda’s Kitchen and Pinson Exxon. He was a jack-of-all-trades but his health had prevented him from working fulltime.
He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, camping, square-dancing and music. He was a social butterfly who seemed to know everyone.
He is survived by his stepfather Roger Swope of Pinson; a brother Jerry Franklin Hunter (Tammy Willis) of Henderson; five sisters Pamela Coleman (Kurk) of Robinsonville, NC, Renee Lambert (Ronnie) of Adamsville, TN, Betty Blake of Humboldt, TN, Amanda Watlington (Alf) of Peach Tree City, GA, Stacey Greene (Billy) of Medon, TN; best friends Jerry and Vickie Gilliam and his beloved dog, Daffie.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel in Henderson, TN with Bro. Paul Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery in Pinson.
The family will receive friends at Crook Ave. Chapel on Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
