Mavis Jean Young, 82 of Double Springs, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at her residence.
She was born January 14, 1941, in Franklin County, Alabama.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs where services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Chris Blevins will officiate.
Mavis is survived by her son, Jack Lydell Martin; daughter, Brinda Hinton; grandsons, Jack Ryu Martin Russell Garrison; and granddaughters, Keesha Martin, Kenzie Martin, Bonnie Hinton, Michelle Hinton, and Christina Garrison; and special niece/caregiver, Linda Clark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Young; parents, Monroe Martin and Pearly Porter Martin; siblings, Bernice Dubois, Margie Turner, Dora Lee Lewis, Ora Lee Tyre, Racine Gable, Brenda Batchelor, Travis Martin, and Bryce Martin; children, Clark Garrison, Ronnie Garrison, Penny Hinton, and Tammy Garrison.
