Dr. Gary W. Porier, 84, of Florence, passed away June 8, 2023. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, Florence, AL and the American Psychological Association.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 12 – 2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. John Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Dr. Porier was preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Ruby Porier; son, Michael Scott Porier; brother, Bill Porier; and a special aunt and uncle, Lena and Dannie Porier.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Jean Graves Porier; daughter, Kelly Porier Banda Reed (Ken) of Grapevine, Texas and Ashely Porier Smith (Micah) of Florence, AL; brother, David Porier of Ardmore, Oklahoma; and grandchildren, Nicholas Ryan Banda of Grapevine, Texas, Stephen Garren Porier of Gardendale, Alabama, Abigail Jean and Grace Smith of Florence, Alabama.
