Ella Jean Lamar Doss Ella Jean Lamar Doss went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2023. She was born in Booneville, Mississippi, June 14, 1933, to Mamie Burney and Larkin Lamar. After her family moved to Alabama, Ella Jean attended Sheffield High School. She was married to the love of her life, A.K. Doss, in 1948 until his death in 1992. She was a past member and officer of the Eastern Star and was a member of Hook Street Baptist Church.

Ella Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son; Charles Rogers; one sister, Vera Crowell; and two brothers, Orville and Arlon Lamar.

Ella Jean is survived by son, Kenneth Doss (Wanda), two daughters, Wanda “Susie” King (Wayne) and Paula Morgan (Mike); six grandchildren, Jenny Prince (John), Zach Morgan (Heather), Emily Robinson (Corey), Ben Morgan, Andrew Doss (Lindsey), and Katherine Doss; and five great-grandchildren, Parker Morgan, Finley Morgan, Lillian Doss, Abigail Robinson, and Anna Robinson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ella Jean died two weeks before her 90th birthday, for which a large celebration had been planned. Visitation will occur at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2, at Morrison Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Ronnie Martin will officiate. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Doss, Zach Morgan, Ben Morgan, John Prince, Corey Robinson, and Jim Smith.
