PaulPaul William Hurst 62, of Ford City died Sunday March 17, 2013. Visitation will be 12:00pm until 3:00pm Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be 3:00pm Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Town Creek. Barry Phillips and Keith Prince will officiate. Paul was a devoted Christian and as long as it was at all possible he never missed a service. He was well studied and very knowledgeable in the Bible. He had a desire to see all his family and friends saved. When he was able to, he preached occasionally at Town Creek Church of Christ. He attended Athens State College, U.N.A., Northwest Alabama Junior College where he received a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in Special Education. This was a great passion for him because he wanted children to achieve their best. No matter how many years past he always remembered every child he taught by name. While he was physically able he loved the outdoors and loved to hunt so he could listen to his beagles run. Throughout his many years of illness he never complained and showed strength and courage and always kept his faith. His biggest blessing on earth was his wife Sarah who always put Paul’s need first and cared for him at home, which extended his life for many years, which is an expression of true love. He was admired and loved by all who knew him and will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his father John Hurst and his mother Annie Hurst. He is survived by his wife Sarah Jane Foster Hurst; his sisters: Denise Hurst, Kay (Phil) Moss; and Sherry (Gary) Schulte; and his uncle Marshall Hurst; numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; and in-laws. Pallbearers will be Greg Hallmark, Shane Foster, Mark Foster, Luke Bryant, Sam Howard, Jay Foster, and Jaycee Foster. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marshall Foster, Carl Foster, Jack Foster, Bobby Hallmark, and Chris Bryant. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Robert Mann, Hospice of North Alabama, and Nurses Candace, Tina, and Wanda.
