Kerry Dawn Herring, 61, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Visitation will be Saturday, April 1, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Ford City Baptist Church. The funeral service will immediately follow at the church with J.D. Harrison officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery, Muscle Shoals.
Dawn was a member of Ford City Baptist Church and a retired hairdresser. She was preceded in death by her father, J.L. Carpenter, and infant daughter, Tonya Dawn Herring.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Michael Scott Herring; children, Anthony Scott Whitehouse and Tiffany Simmons (Michael); mother, Ann Carpenter; sister, Melanie Matlock; grandchildren, Ava Simmons, Brantley Simmons, and Riley Simmons; and niece, Allison Campbell.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
The family offers special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama, the doctors and nurses at UAB and Helen Keller Hospital, and to her wonderful friends, who are too many to name.
