Mrs. Sherry Lynn “Shirley” Hodges, of the Brooklyn community in Holly Pond, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the age of 74.
Mrs. Hodges was born on May 12, 1948 to William Homer Saint and Zolar Clyde Hulsey Saint in Marshall County, Alabama. She lived in the Brooklyn community for over 50 years with her husband Alonza, and was a member of Eidson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Hodges enjoyed camping, being outdoors and taking care of her flower garden. She loved her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hodges leaves memories behind to be cherished by her son, Steven Hodges; daughters, Monica Roberts, Amy Blair (Nathan), and Beth Wood (James); sister, Dorothy Sutton Conkle; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hodges is preceded in death by her husband, Alonza Hodges; parents, William and Zolar Saint; brothers, Wilbourn and Robert Saint; and sisters, Billie Stapp and Kathern Daniel.
A visitation with the family will be held at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Brother Floyd Bradford. Interment will follow at Baileyton Cemetery. Pallbearers escorting Mrs. Hodges to her final resting place are Mike Stapp, Chris Boatright, Jeremey Hodges, Jonathan Hodges, Caleb Hodges, and Andrew Gilbert.
