Terry O. Smith, age 64 of Gulf Breeze, FL, formerly of Ider, AL, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Mr. Smith was born on September 27, 1958 to the late Ovet “Toad” & Ruth Thompson Smith in Ider. After graduating from Ider High School in 1976, Terry received his Masters degree in Education from the University of Alabama. He taught and coached in several school systems throughout the state and in Mississippi before retiring as an Administrator from Hoover City Schools.
Funeral services will be 12 noon, Monday February 20, 2023 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Lea officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10 am until the 12 noon hour of service.
He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Robin & Jerry Woodall; sister & brother-in-law, Genella & Clark Tolbert; grandchildren, Blake (Hanna) Woodall and Ethan Woodall; great-granddaughter, Jovee Woodall; significant other, Lori Delashaw and her children, Madison (Joseph) Ring, Benton Billingsley and Lilly Billingsley; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and the mother of his child, Donna Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Charles Smith.
