Marie Ashley, 92, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at The Cottage of the Shoals. The graveside service will be at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Union Hill Cemetery in Moulton, AL with Daryl Hunter and Tommy Hunter officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home Directing.
Born on November 17, 1930, to Sanford and Edna Lansdell Norton, Marie enjoyed spending time with her family. Marie attended Landersville Praise and Worship and New Liberty Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Gary Ashley (Darlene); two grandchildren, Deny Ashley (Bronwyn) and Sunny Young (Clyde); great-grandchildren, Brady Ashley and Carter Young; one sister, Jo Hunter; one brother, Sanford Norton Jr.; two nephews, Daryl Hunter and Tommy Hunter; and several other nephews and extended family members.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Sanford and Edna Lansdell Norton; husband, Willard Ashley; two sons, Mike Ashley and Kenny Ashley; and one brother-in-law, Jerry Hunter.
Pallbearers will be Deny Ashley, Brady Ashley, Carter Young, Daryl Hunter, Tommy Hunter, Cecil Ashley, Jon Dawson, and Clyde Young.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff at The Cottage of the Shoals.
