Malcolm Roy “Mike” Yancey, Jr., 64, resident of Blue Mountain, departed this life on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley. Services for Mike will be private.
Mike was born September 7, 1958 in New Orleans, LA, and was the son of the late Malcolm Roy and Ermie Dees Davis Yancey. He was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, served his country in the United States Navy and was employed as a truck driver throughout his life.
A loving father and grandfather, Mike enjoyed working, telling stories, writing poetry, joking with others and recreational activities. Although he liked to “buck the system”, he shared many good times with those he loved. “Life is a shipwreck, but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboats.”
Memories will continue to be shared by his step-son, Michael Herman (Tonya), three grandchildren, Brian Brooks, Michael A. Herman (Kimberly Cook) and Angel Herman and a sister, Sue Dye.
