Hill English passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023, after a brief illness. Hill was born in Bradenton, Florida on October 24, 1933. After serving in the United States Army, he graduated from The University of Florida. Upon graduation, he moved to Huntsville to start his career at Thiokol as an engineer with the various rocket programs. While working at Thiokol, he started
B & E Cycles with his partner, Buddy Blackwell, to support their love of motorcycles. After a 30-year career with Morton Thiokol, he retired to enjoy over 35 of the greatest years of his life where he was able to enjoy the things he loved the most — his family, fishing in Guntersville Lake, and saltwater fishing in Orange Beach.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Corrie English; his daughters, Linda Harman (Brimmer Sherman) and Emily Morgan (Wayne); five grandchildren, Hill Harman (Melissa), Sara Harman Vines, Hannah Harman Carter (Rich), Jessica Morgan Coleman (Justin), and Wilson Morgan (Katie); and seven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Tommy and Andy Vines, Charlie and Lola Harman, Margot Carter, and Reese Coleman.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with a brief service following at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Hill’s memory to any of the following organizations: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Salvation Army, or Gideons International.
