Robert Allen Klecka, 87, died peacefully on January 16, 2023, at Hospice Family Care, Huntsville Alabama. He was born July 26, 1935, in Berwyn Illinois the son of Charles and Elizabeth Klecka.
Robert graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following graduation, he married his lifelong partner, Harriette Ann Rawson. Shortly after he was drafted by the U.S. Army and stationed at Redstone Arsenal Huntsville, Alabama. On leaving the Army, he was hired by Chrysler Corporation where he was the Facilities Manager until his retirement in 1993.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ann Rawson Klecka; son, Robert Allen Klecka Jr; and grandson, Fitzgerald Bouvier McQueen Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Anne Klecka McQueen and her husband, Dr. Fitzgerald McQueen; son, Scott Charles Klecka and his wife, Donna Graves Klecka; grandchildren, Mary Scott Klecka, Ann Logan Klecka, Allison Klecka Snider and her husband, Christopher Andrew Snider, Lila Hope Elizabeth McQueen, William Champ Klecka, and Gen VanSteenis, wife of Fitzgerald B. McQueen Jr.
Visitation will be at Laughlin Service Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 18th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 19th at 10:00 AM, with burial service following at Maple Hill Cemetery.
