Emma Jean Hawk Keller, age 80, of Winchester, left this life on December 2, 2022 surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Emma Jean was born in Sewanee, Tennessee on August 18, 1942, to D.C. Hawk and Leona Rose Hawk. She grew up in Pelham, Tennessee and graduated from Grundy County High School in 1960. She attended Droughon School of Business in Nashville. She worked for Franklin Chevrolet for several years as an administrative assistant. In 1963, she took a position at AEDC, where she met a handsome young man who turned out to be the love of her life – David. They married in 1964 and over the next few years welcomed two children- Denise and Charles. Emma Jean worked for many years as a teacher’s aide at Pelham School where she loved working with the kids. She spent the last 15 years of her working life as a pharmacy technician at Bennett’s Pharmacy. She enjoyed all her customers at Bennett’s. After retirement she spent her time loving and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who called her “Mama Jean”. Emma Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 58 years, David Leo Keller. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Ledford (Gary), Son Charles Keller; six grandchildren, Travis Ledford (Jackie), Emma Ledford (Christian Roehmer), Molly West, Audrey West, Eathan Keller, and Evan Keller; Great-Grandchildren Addie Ledford and Brooks Ledford and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her third great-grandchild in late December. Many thanks to our special family friend, Glenda Patterson, for her love, dedication, and care for David and Emma Jean over the last few years. Thank you Dr Damian Szewczyk and the wonderful nurses at Southern Tennessee Regional Health who took such excellent care of her during the last month. Our family would be blessed if you would choose to honor her memory with a donation to any of the following organizations: St. Judes Childrens Hospital, Animal Harbor, or Christ the King Anglican Church. Visitation will be held from 12pm to 3pm on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Moore-Cortner. The service will follow at 3pm in the chapel with Fr Bill Midgett officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
