Terry Ross Bennett of Arab peacefully passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022, with his family by his side. Mr. Bennett was born January 30, 1941, in Walker County to parents James Odis Bennett and Mary Norma Mayberry Bennett. He was a 1959 graduate of Phillips High School in Birmingham. He attended Howard College (Samford University) from 1959 to 1963 where he received his degree in Pharmacy. After college he moved to Huntsville in June 1963 and worked at Medical Arts Pharmacy till 1972. In April 1972 he began working for Luther Latham at City Drugs in Arab. Then in September 1976 he purchased and moved from City Drugs to 237 South Parkway in Arab to begin his own business known today as Parkway Pharmacy. Years later, in 2003 he purchased and moved Parkway Pharmacy to where it is today, located at 606 North Brindlee Mountain Parkway. Mr. Bennett enjoyed SEC football and basketball and was a huge Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He loved music (especially Gospel), playing guitar and keyboard/piano, taking road trips, loved all kinds of cars, and the Tennessee River. His greatest passion was Parkway Pharmacy and serving his community.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Bennett; children: Molly Bennett, Mandy Oswalt (Ellis), Savannah Rodenberry (Jacob); grandchildren: Olivia Pierce, Grissom Pierce, and Grantlin Wayne Rodenberry. He is proceeded in death by his parents: James Odis and Mary Norma Bennett and his wife: Betsy Bennett.
Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2022, at Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery in Jasper with Brother Greg Stone officiating, Gober Funeral Chapel directing. There will be no visitation prior to graveside service.
Pallbearers: Jacob Rodenberry, Ellis Oswalt, Grissom Pierce, Tim Barclift, Robert Scofield, and Ronnie Opolka.
In lieu of flowers, family has requested for everyone to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.
