A Celebration of Life Service for James E. Yates 88, will be held 2:00pm Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home with Minster Brad Dillingham officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Church of Christ Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Saturday 12:00 to service time.
James died October 26, 2022 at his residence. He was born June 27, 1934 in Prentiss Co. MS. to the late Coy and Velma Yates. He was drafted and served in the US Army, he later work at Intex Plastic and retired after 40 years. He was a member of the Strickland Church of Christ. He enjoyed working on cars, gardening, and farm animals.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Harville Yates; parents; brother, Jimmy Dale Yates; sisters, Flora (Harvey), Willmetta Sykes (J.B.), Pauline Smith (Colonial), Geraldine Trantham (Leon).
He is survived by his daughters, Judy Hogland (Larry), Cathy Yates; grandchildren, Kurt Shoemaker, Jill Wallace (Justin), Jon Shoemaker (Juliana); great grandchildren, Mac Shoemaker, Mia Shoemaker, Camden Shoemaker, Carter Shoemaker, Audrey Wallace.
