Paul Gary Watson, age 82, of Warrior, passed away August 3, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Ruby Watson; siblings, Mary Elizabeth James, Tom Watson and Kenneth Watson, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Bernie Rhodes and his brother-in-law, Lewis Rhodes. Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Barbara Watson; daughters, Susan Herron (Ricky) and Tammy Allums; grandchildren, Savanna Robison (Josh), Adam Henderson (Brittney), Kaitlyn Allums (Pat O’Day), and Haley Calvert (Trevor); great-grandchildren Gibson, Sawyer, Sadie, Miles and Brentlee; siblings, Claude Watson and Melissa Goggins, as well as many other loving family members and friends. Paul was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He held a special love for the Men’s Sunday School class he attended there. Paul loved his family. He was a hard-worker and enjoyed providing for his family. He loved his family deeply and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His lifelong profession and passion was automobiles. Paul was a true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening but above all he was a child of God. Services to honor his memory will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 2pm in the New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will be held for 2 hours prior to service time. Burial will be at Union Missionary Baptist Cemetery in Warrior. Rev. John Foles will officiate. Beloved family and friends; Josh Robison, Adam Henderson, Trevor Calvert, Patrick O’Day, Denny Allums, Ray Henderson, Gibson Henderson and Sawyer Robison will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to express appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the SICU at St. Vincent’s East Hospital for the excellent care and kindness shown to both Paul and all of the Watson family during his illness.
