Jimmy Earl Miller, Sr., 83, died Friday, August 5, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Hinkle Creek, MS and was a graduate of Cooter High School, Cooter, MO. He was retired as a Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy after serving twenty years. He was retired from Gates Rubber Co. where he was a supervisor. He was a member of Christian Assembly of God Church, Dennis, MS.

Services will be Sunday, August 7, 2 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Fairview MS with Bro. Jackie Hastings and Bro. Jerry Hastings officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Red Bay, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years – Peggie Hastings Miller; a daughter – Gwendolyn Miller; a son – Kenneth Miller; daughter-in-law – Melanie Miller; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters – Nelda McIntire and Charlotte Winstead and two brothers – Don Miller and John Miller.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Earl Miller; his mother, Annie D. Miller, a son, Jimmy Earl Miller, Jr., a sister, Marie Anderson, a nephew, Randy Anderson and a niece, Kathy Shubart.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Miller, Tucker Conwill, Kray Jones, Cooper Wilson, Travis Wilson and Grant Hastings. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Miller, Colin Miller, Nicholas Miller, Gabriel Miller, Josh Stovall and Briley Jones.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 7, 12-2 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
