Joy Elaine Russ Hines, age 68, of West Point, Tenn., passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Scott Healthcare, after an extended illness.
She was a native of Lawrence County, Tenn., a retired medical technologist, a member of the American Medical Technologists, served as president and vice president and editor of the Journal, and a member of West Point Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at Loretto Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. Ray Byrd will be officiating. Burial will follow in Blair Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Loretto Memorial Chapel.
Survivors are one daughter, Valerie West and husband, William, Loretto, Tenn.; one brother, Jerry Russ and wife, Tracy, West Point, Tenn.; three sisters, Freda Hagan and husband, Doug, Deerfield, Tenn., Mary Evelyn McCormick and husband, Dan, Tuscumbia, Ala., and Janice Russ, Loretto, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Kayla Gray and husband, Andy, Florence, Ala., Kandace Nelson and husband, Dustin, St. Louis, Mo., Kaden West, Loretto, Tenn., and Kane West, Loretto, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Family requests that in lieu of flowers, make donations to Blair Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Fund.
Loretto Memorial Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
