Hubert S Greene, 88, Rogersville, Ala., died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Florence Nursing and Rehab.
He was born in Paden, Miss., to O.S. and Vesta Dean Greene. He was a member of Rogersville United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was retired fromNASA.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Rogersville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Vick Vickers, the Rev. Robert Lancaster and the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Graveside services will be Tuesday at noon at Belmont City Cemetery, Belmont, Miss. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Miss., will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are one daughter, Marie Butler (Jerry), of Killen; one son, Ed Greene, of Hazel Green, Ala.; four grandchildren, Kyle Butler (Dawn), Rodney Butler (Jennifer), Kevin Greene (Tessa) and Hillary Coats (Mike); five great-grandchildren, Blair Holden (Dustin), Cody Butler, Jesse Butler, Annsley Coats and Mary Margaret Coats; and two great-great-grandchildren, Brody Butler and Avery Holden.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edris Greene, a sister, Mildred Farrar, and a brother, Lyman Greene.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Butler, Rodney Butler, Kevin Greene, Cody Butler, Jesse Butler, Mike Coats, Benny Wayne Farrar, Lloyd Moore, Doyle Moore and Jim Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hannah Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Rogersville United Methodist Church and from 11 a.m.-noon on Tuesday at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Miss.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Rogersville United Methodist Church.
