Christine Quanstrom Deason, 73, of Huntsville, joined the corps of angels on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Chris was born in Bloomington, IL and lived in Michigan and Texas before moving to Birmingham, AL, where she met her future husband, Jed Deason. She graduated from W.A. Berry High School, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lenoir Ryne University and a Master of Arts in Education from The University of Alabama in Birmingham. She worked for many years as a teacher and counselor for school systems in Tuscaloosa, Vestavia, and Huntsville. Chris enjoyed traveling with friends, hosting social gatherings, and spending time at the beach and lake.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Richard C. Quanstrom and Wilhelmine S. Quanstrom. Survivors include her husband, Jed Deason; son, Gavin Deason; brother, Conrad Quanstrom (Linda); brothers-in-law, Jim Deason (Genie), and Bill Deason; and sisters-in-law, Margaret Haley and Amanda Deason.
A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2022, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Food Bank of North Alabama or St. Mark’s to support its food ministries.
