Martha Deffke Alexander, formerly of Montgomery, Alabama, died peacefully on May 30, 2022 in Huntsville. Born April 7, 1929, she is survived by her son, Howard Cobb Alexander Jr, (Susan) of Huntsville, and by grandsons Austin Cobb Alexander (Alana), Blake Edward Alexander (Danielle), Grant Christian Alexander (Michala), granddaughter Claire Elizabeth Alexander, and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her nieces Claire Bailey Hope (Kent), and Helen Carter Keesey (Douglas).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Cobb Alexander, her daughter Claire Marie Alexander Bone, her sister, Marie Deffke Bailey, and her parents, Glenn Harold Deffke and Claire White Deffke.

Mrs. Alexander was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery and a graduate of the University of Alabama.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, followed by a visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Marie Alexander Bone Memorial Scholarship, University of Alabama in Huntsville, Office of Advancement, Huntsville, AL, 35899, or to the Romanian Missionary Society, PO Box 527, Wheaton, IL, 60187.
