Mrs Carolyn Sue Duke Mrs. Carolyn Sue Duke, age 73, of Joppa, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022.
Mrs. Duke was born on November 29, 1948, in Calhoun County, Alabama to Lee Frank Coppock and Thelma Eulene Stephens . She married Jimmy Ray Duke in 1970 and shared 51 years together. She and Jimmy spent several years in Germany while Jimmy was serving his country in the U.S Army. They returned and since 1991 made Joppa, Alabama their home. Carolyn took pride in taking care of her home and family. She also took pride in helping others. She loved to cook and her philosophy was “the more the better.” She loved cooking for large groups and did this often for the military personnel in Germany. She babysat military personnel children, served as a substitute teacher, delivered the Huntsville Times newspaper, and was a valuable caregiver to her daughter.
Cherishing memories of Carolyn are her husband, Jimmy R. Duke, and her daughters, Janella Miller (Christopher) and Michelle Loyola (Armando). Also remembering Carolyn with fondness are her siblings, Edgar Coppock (Sarah), Eva Jane Mahan, and Candace Boggs, (Phil); grandchildren, Erica Miller and Ryan Miller, and special caregiver, Elizabeth Franklin.
Mrs. Duke is at last reunited with her parents, Lee Frank and Thelma Stephens Coppock.
A graveside service and interment will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Simcoe Baptist Church Cemetery in Cullman County. Brother Donald King will officiate.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Roger Duke, Andy Duke, Rocky Duke, Derrick Duke, Randy Duke, and Eric Lambert.
