Margaret Rosemary Washam, age 78, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at her residence. She was a gracious lady and faced all challenges in life, with strength, courage, and grace.
Rosemary was born on December 25, 1943, a very special Christmas present to her parents, Ronald Dunn and Alverene Culpepper Dunn. She was a life-long resident of Arab, Alabama, a former Miss Arab, and a faithful member of Arab First United Methodist Church. She served faithfully as secretary for the Arab City School System for over 25 years. Upon retirement she spent her time enjoying her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Rosemary is survived by her husband of 48 years, Wayne Washam, her children, Alan Washam (Deena) and Jeff Washam (Nicki) and grandchildren, Madison Washam and Morgan Washam.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Alverene Culpepper Dunn and her siblings, Billy Dunn, Ted “Sonny” Dunn, Jerry Wayne Dunn, Annette Dunn, and Yvonne Dunn.
A visitation will be held at Arab First United Methodist Church on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with a Service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Arab Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Nicky James will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arab First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
