W.D. Wooten, 77, died Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Tishomingo Manor, Iuka, MS. He was born in Dennis, MS and worked in logging and as a night watchman at Wood Sales. He was a twenty year veteran serving in the Mississippi Army National Guard. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Services will be Sunday, April 10, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Cliff Kelton officiating. Burial will be in Dennis Memory Gardens, Dennis, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years – Mable Wooten; a son – Tim Wooten (Melissa); a daughter – Kim Wooten; three brothers – Jimmy Wooten (Peggy), Larry Wooten (Linda) and Donnie Wooten (Teresa); three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nim and Nellie Mae Wooten, a brother, Nathan Wooten and a sister, Ann Nunley.
Pallbearers will be Zach Wooten, Chasen Rosser, Chris Wooten, Steve Wooten, Brandon Dick and Dustin Dick. Honorary pallbearer will be Mark Nichols.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 9, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
