Funeral Services for Mrs. Mae Horn Davis, age 95 of Ashland, will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Eugene Howard officiating. Private family burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Clay County Nursing Home. Born in Clay County, she spent some time living in Indiana, before moving back to Alabama. She lived in Pell City, Moody and Talladega before moving back to Ashland for the last several years. Mrs. Davis worked as a seamstress for over 20 years, and worked at Bemiston for many years. She loved her family, enjoyed crocheting and cooking, her most famous dish was banana pudding for her kids. Mrs. Davis loved animals, especially her dachshund doggy, “Shorty” that brought her great joy. Mrs. Davis was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Florence of Texas, two sons, Larry D. Parker (Anita) of
Ragland and Royce R. Sizemore of Talladega, two grandchildren, Eric Parker (Lynda) and Melissa
Parker, two great grandchildren, Trey and Grace Parker, her sister, Betty Mayall (Daryl) of Lineville, nieces, nephews and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Davis, her parents, James E. and Minnie Horn, her son, Jerry D. Parker, two sisters and four brothers.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M.
The family requests no flowers; instead memorial donations may be made to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 973 Pell City, AL 35125.
