Evie Louise Robinson, 97, of Decatur will be Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Reverend Bryan Blass and the Reverend Wayne Newby officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Robinson, who died Monday, February 4, 2013, at Emeritus Assisted Living in Atlanta, Ga., was born June 1, 1915, in Decatur to James and Maude Matthews. She was a 1934 graduate of Decatur High School and attended Florence State Teachers College. She began teaching at Trinity School (November 1935-1938). Evie was a mother, wife and homemaker for her entire life. She was a Sunday school teacher, member of Central Baptist Church and community concert sponsor. She loved writing poetry. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Richard Robinson; sisters, Pearl Matthews, Kittie Fowler and Mae Matthews; and brothers, Arthur Matthews, Raymond Matthews and Harvey Matthews.
Survivrs include one son, Paul Robinson; one daughter, Ann Robinson Bobo; and five grandchildren, Todd Bobo, Brett Bobo, Matthew Robinson, Travis Robinson and Kathryn Robinson.
Pallbearers will be David Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Travis Robinson, Ronald Matthews, Ernest Matthews and Ted Terry.
