John Wesley Stokes, age 75 of Winchester, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 14, 2022, at his home with his loving wife by his side. John was born on July 18, 1946, in Great Bend, Kansas to Patricia Wilson Stokes and the late Rolland Stokes. Before his retirement he worked retail at a hardware store and was a truck driver. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hiking, working with his hands building an assortment of items, and cheering for Purdue University. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Rance. John is survived by his loving wife, Jill (Headdy) Stokes; mother, Patricia (Wilson) Stokes; daughters, Amy Stokes and Elizabeth Moore; grandchildren, Briana Stokes, Autumn Bodrey and Natalie Moore; siblings, Debbie Herbster, Brenda Kelly and Richard Stokes.
