Rosetta Lee Thompson, age 81 of Sumiton, passed away January 6, 2021. She is preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Pryor; her ex-husband and father of her children, Phillip Thompson and sons, Terry Thompson, Donald Thompson and Neil Thompson. Rosie is survived by her sons, Charles Thompson, Perry Thompson and Jerry Thompson. Rosie was a coal miner who raised seven sons on her own. She worked in Bessie, Flat Top and Mary Lee mines. After retiring from the mining industry she worked at the All State Convenience Store where she became lovingly known as “Rosie”. Everyone loved Rosie. She was a wonderful mother, person, and friend. Rosie was also a fan of Alabama Football. She will be deeply missed. A graveside service to celebrate Rosie’s life will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 11am in New Horizon Memorial Gardens.
