Funeral Services for Mrs. Jane Carr Alexander, age 84 of Lineville, will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Lineville Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Colquett officiating. Burial will follow at Lineville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Alexander passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2021 at Clay County Hospital. Born in Rockford, she graduated from Clay County High school and spent the majority of her life in Clay County. She worked for Alfa Insurance Company for over 31 years as an insurance agent, and was very instrumental in bringing Alfa Insurance to Clay County. Mrs. Alexander was an avid Alabama fan, and enjoyed talking to her friends on the phone. She loved crossword puzzles, watching Hallmark channel all day long, and putting puzzles together. Mrs. Alexander often went to the Senior Center; she loved spending time with friends and just people in general. But the most important people she spent time with was her family. She loved being with her children and grandchildren, and always put family first in her heart. She was a great cook, enjoyed having a great time, and going to church when she could. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Lineville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by her two daughters: Reneé Bruce (Mike) and Dena Bishop (Danny) both of Lineville, four grandchildren: Chad Magee (Sharon), Alexandra Shealy (Jeremi), Aaliyah Whitley and Stephanie Kelley, five great-grandchildren: Brennan, Austin, Maddie Jane, Kelsie and Terry, her bonus children: Sandy Reid, Tracy Alexander and Sandra Benefield, and many special nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther O. Carr and Euna Jackson Carr, her husband, Jerry A. Alexander, two grandchildren: Russell and Joseph Mattox, her brother, Owen Carr and two sisters: Virginia McEwen and Sara Samuels.
Active Pallbearers will be: Chad Magee, Jeremi Shealy, Tracy Alexander, Ronald Robertson, Jody Long and Josh Giddens.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her “Phone Friends”: Sundra Robertson, Joyce McDonald, Carolyn Short, Susie Jordan, Faye Dial, Judy Welch, Debbie Threlkeld, Laura Alexander, Allie Stewart and Carolyn Colquett.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville, and until 10:00 A.M. Monday morning.
